Volunteer Spotlight - Liz Thomas
ASBC begins this new column as a means to express our thanks to all the volunteers who have spent their free time contributing
ASBC efforts in our community. We kick off this feature with a recent 2007 Fairview graduate and aspiring photojournalist.
Liz Thomas began her community service ethic in the 3rd grade when she spent time helping her struggling peers obtain
higher literacy achievement. Liz is also bilingual and her other endeavors have included watching over Spanish speaking
children while their parents attend autism information events. Liz graduated this year from Fairview High School with honors and
over the past 4 years has contributed approximately 150 community services hours to ASBC. One of her primary duties with ASBC
was as a photographer at our various events. Liz has also spent numerous hours assisting with our conferences, auction and
other volunteers activities ASBC required. Liz is currently a photojournalist intern with the Boulder Weekly and will be attending Knox College
in Illinois in the Fall. Liz, THANK YOU for all you have done to help promote ASD awareness. The photos you have taken are a historical
accounting of where ASBC has come from and where we are to date. We wish you the very best of success and will miss your keen eye.
Look for our other volunteers to be featured monthly! We are so grateful for their service. |
