ASBC Volunteers at Boulder IronMan

Date: 09-Jun-2018

The Autism Society of Boulder County and IronMan Boulder are coming together to give people on the autism spectrum and their families, a chance to give back to the community by volunteering to help with Boulder IronMan race on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

If you are on the autism spectrum or have a friend or family member who is and would like to volunteer to help others in an autism friendly environment check out this opportunity! This volunteer event is open to everyone on the spectrum regardless of experience or challenges. If you are new to helping others and feel you can possibly only help one person one time, with something simple, please join us. If you are comfortable with the idea of helping, feel like trying something new or if you have done this before, sign up for a longer shift. IronMan and ASBC are excited to work with anyone willing to give it a try.

ASBC will be providing; snacks, fidgets to help with focus, a quiet place to get away if you need a break, partner volunteers to help with anyone who feels more comfortable working with a partner and an overall autism friendly atmosphere. IronMan will provide training on how to get the job done and how best to support the athletes.

This is a great opportunity to learn new things, get involved in a fun community event, meet new people and to show how much people on the spectrum have to give.
